POSITION DESCRIPTION: 7 - 12 VOC Metal Fabrication/Auto Mechanics Instructor Qualifications:
Required:

• Must have and maintain a valid Washington State teaching certificate with proper endorsements, welding, body& fender.
• Must maintain Washington State Patrol and FBI clearance.
• Ability to create a classroom environment characterized by mutual respect, trust and cooperation
• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to implement instructional strategies to meet students’ skill levels, learning styles, and social/emotional needs in the classroom
• Strong communication skills as evidenced by the ability to develop communication processes and interact successfully with adults and students in problem solving processes
• Demonstrated ability to teach the curriculum of a self- contained classroom using current educational strategies, hands-on learning techniques, and the appropriate technology
• Demonstrated ability to design and successfully implement individualized student behavior management plans
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology and software in areas related to curriculum, such as word- processing, research, cross-curriculum projects, internet usage, etc.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm and dedication for the teaching profession and children of all ethnic origins and academic ability.

Preferred:
• Multicultural experience.
• Agriculture, natural resources or horticulture desired.
• Ability to assist with extracurricular activities.
• Experience teaching in block scheduling.
• Instructional skills relating to hands-on interactive learning strategies.
